Light weight is playing an increasingly important role for rail vehicles because their weight has generally risen over the last 30 years. Honeycomb composites should be good candidates for Rail vehicle components and assemblies with its light weight performance.

Aluminum honeycomb core is made of aluminum foil with joint glue especially used for aluminum honeycomb core. The performance of the aluminum honeycomb core is affected by aluminum foil, joint glue and the specification of the core.

1. Alumimium foil

It adopts aluminum foil with the specification code of 3003/5052H18 which have been strictly surface treated. While processing products with high strength and long duration requirement, it shall use 1100 pure aluminum foil with caution to produce core material.

2. Joint glue

Glue should be modified high temperature solidification epoxy glue which can not only provide sufficient bonding strength, but also environmental resistance and high or low temperature resistance properties. The joint strength of aluminum honeycomb core is the mainstay of evaluating its performance which should be more than 2.0N/mm.

Applications:

1. Transportation: Interior and flooring panels for train, deck panel and bulkheads in marine vessels and marine products, automotive, truck and et al; shock absorber in train industry, Crash test in automobile industry, tail windings and rotor blades in copter and flooring in transit, ships, aircraft;

2. Construction: lightweight panels in building exterior and interior, desk top, base, and shelving of furniture 3. Sports: bumpers and body panel of F1 machine 4. Manufacturing: industrial partition and tooling board.

6. Energy: rotor blade in wind energy.
